Machinists - Weekend Shifts

Production - Machining - Newington, NH - Full Time

Wilcox is growing and we are currently seeking full-time machinists for the following departments:  CNC Lathe, CNC Horizontal, and Vertical Mills.  This is weekend work on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  There are 2 shifts available: 1st shift (20% shift differential) with the hours of 7AM to 7PM and 3rd shift (30% shift differential) with the hours of 7PM to 7AM.  Training hours may vary until fully trained and staffed.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Carries out machine operations as instructed.
  • Replace broken or worn tools and set the length of the tool.
  • Inspects parts being loaded and unloaded to meet visual and physical quality standards to avoid scrap.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
  • Ensures compliance with ITAR, EAR, and other federal requirements.
  • Identifies problems, provides possible solutions, seeks guidance, and participates in corrective action.
  • Follows process and/or participates in process improvement and process documentation updates.
  • Reviews safety procedures and follows them, making suggested improvements.
  • Promotes safety awareness.
  • Seeks opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Leads by example to promote safety awareness and use of PPE appropriately.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Vocational or similar training in machining desirable.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and gauges to check parts according to drawings.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn how to read basic engineering drawings.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, process documentation, and work orders.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Committed to safety consciousness and able to follow the company’s safety policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
  • Must wear eye and ear protection.
  • Hand eye coordination.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions with fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.
