The SMT Solderer is responsible for assembling, soldering, and inspecting surface-mount components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) per industry standards and company specifications. This role involves working with various precision soldering equipment and tools, ensuring high-quality standards and efficiency in the production process.

- Reads work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine established assembly methods.
- Visually inspect parts for proper insertion and placement.
- Ensures assemblies and components are properly handled and marked.
- Follows process documentation during the assembly and work order travelers.
- Soldering: Configure, mount, and solder components to printed wiring boards (PWB) per IPC-A-610C.
- Inspection: Inspect solder joints and components using microscopes and magnifiers to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Rework and Repair: Rework defective solder joints and replace defective components to meet quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of soldering and rework processes, including completion of production logs and quality control documents.
- Quality Assurance: Follow quality assurance procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including engineers and quality assurance personnel, to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience soldering and re-working PWBs in a manufacturing environment.
- Certified to IPC-A-610C is preferred.
- Ability to follow work instructions; such instruction may be written or verbal.
- Ability to use small hand tools, read blueprints, assemble detailed parts, communicate effectively in English, and read and understand directions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with others.
- Excellent vision for reading fine print and the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time is essential.
- Candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent or have 5+ years of experience soldering in an SMT environment.
- Standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, bending, grasping, holding, carrying up to 25 pounds, reaching, lifting, and pushing and pulling across various distances are generally required to perform the functions of this position. Required to have close visual acuity
